Info panels
The "Panel" option will allow you to create an information box on your site.
These are good if you want to have an important notification on your site. You should use this sparingly to maximise the effect of visitors taking full notice of the notification.
Here are a couple of examples of how they might be used:

Abstract Submission Deadline
Please note that the deadline for abstract submissions is 30th January.
