Galleries

There are two routes you can take for creating a gallery. You can do so by using the "Create gallery" option under the "Add Media" button in the editor (which this guide will focus on), or you can create a Gallery widget.

• The "Gallery widget" supports images and YouTube videos and allows you to add information around the gallery items when the open up in what's called a "modal".  This will display a maximum of 5 items on the front end, if you've added more than that, they will be visible when you select an image to open the modal.
• The "Create gallery" option just supports images which can either open full size in the modal or just be displayed on the page. There are no limits to how many images you can have (don't go too wild, the more you add, the longer the page load times will be).

Create gallery

When you're editing a page using the content editor, use the "Add Media" button. There should be a "Create gallery" option on the left-hand side.

Select that and then choose which images you want to display.

If you add a caption to an image it will be displayed underneath the image (see the last image in the gallery example below).

"Gallery Settings" on the right-hand side will give you more control over how the gallery functions. Not all options are fully functional though. Here's what will have an affect:

• Link To: Attachment page or Media File will open the image in the modal when clicked, displaying the full-size image. "None" will render the image on the page but it won't be openable.
• Columns: Will have no effect on how the gallery is rendered. The gallery has been designed to perform best on a wide range of different screen sizes.
• Random Order: Will work as intended and display the images in a random order.
• Size: The same as columns, this will have no effect. Images will be rendered in the best way to fit the page.
